Cleethorpes South Forward was set-up to represent the views of residents living in Croft Baker ward, originally set up to Acorn Funding in partnership with Voluntary Action North East Lincolnshire. Once Acorn Funding had ceased the group recognised there were still outstanding issues in the Ward that needed to be dealt with, and Cleethorpes South Forward took a new direction.

New Direction

  • Cleethorpes South Forward hold regular monthly meetings
  • We deal with priorities raised by local residents
  • We identify projects that will help tackle local priorities
  • We have regular guest speakers to talk about areas of interest to local people
  • We work with a host of partners to make Croft Baker a better place to live

Key Partners

Our meetings are regularly attended by partner agencies such as Community Pride, Balfour Beatty Highways Department, Humberside Fire & Rescue, Humberside Police, PCSO’s, North East Lincolnshire Council, Neighbourhood Development & Local Councillors.

Our Achievements

  • Crowhill Neighbourhood Watch Funding towards rememberance plaques and more secure gating in the alleyways
  • St Andrews church youth club towards purchasing two Nintendo Wii consoles & pool tables
  • Many other groups around Croft Baker ward joined forces with Clee Lincs Group to put funding into place for the Sussex Rec pavilion renovation

  • Increasing membership
  • Setting up of environmental sub-group: Recognition Scheme, Bin Project, Removal of display banners in the market place
  • Tackling the night time economy: Attendance at pubwatch, Letter to traders, Working with the Police, Trading Standards, Community Pride and Community Safety Officer
  • Work with partners to improve road safety in the St Peters Avenue/Bowling Lane area of Cleethorpes
  • Responding to consultations e.g. car parking review, fire service, council budget
  • Drainage Issues
  • Paving and tree route issues
  • A frames causing obstruction
  • Work with Community Pride to tackle dog fouling and flytipping issues
  • Work with Community Payback to get school fences painted
  • Development of Facebook site and distribution lists to engage more local residents
  • Work with local media to advertise meetings and inform residents about local issues
